I'm taking part this year in the Instagram phenomenon 'The 100 Day Project' - now in its 12th year!
It's a challenge I have as yet to complete, with the best intentions in the world 100 days is a bloody long time! The nearest I came was when I did my 'fabstractfeb' challenge a few years ago back when I had my 'Orbrey and the Modist' account. That was 28 days of mini hoops including 'colour you hate', 'minimalist', 'soft' and 'transparent' as prompts for a textile piece. Per day. 😬
This year I actually have a plan! I decided to do 100 pieces in my sketchbook (in theory, quick) focusing on
Line
Marks
Limited palette
Transparency
Negative space
In doing so I'm hoping to develop some muscle memory type affair which will translate into my large works making them more 'me'.
I am determined to complete it this year and post a video of the whole thing in May when its done and see if and how I did develop and if I have any hair left! ( Cut to video of me all tufty and sobbing, clutching balls of screwed up paper shouting 'Thanks Instagram!')
